In 1991, Charleston native Fred Skipper graduated from The Citadel and immediately went into full-time service in the US Army. As a Field Artillery Captain, he served in combat in throughout Southwest Asia. Fred was honorably discharged from duty in 1996 and is proud to be a US Army Veteran. Following his distinguished military service, he worked in heavy highway construction for the next eight years, responsible for contracts and estimates. In 2003, he made the career move to a regional homebuilder. During his eight-year tenure with the company, Fred handled community project development for multiple properties in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina. Residential property development slowed during the recession of 2008-2009, and Fred transitioned into a successful independent consultant for national homebuilders and HOA communities. In 2013, he joined The Wrenn Group and currently oversees finance objectives and underwriting, general contractor contract negotiations, community management and special project crews for the Hanahan-based company. On the weekends, Fred enjoys spending time with his family, boating, and playing golf.
