Lowcountry native C. Ray Wrenn, founder and visionary of The Wrenn Group, is an entrepreneur, manager, developer, and business owner with over 25 years of experience in waste management and real estate development.
After graduating from Clemson University in 1984, Mr. Wrenn began his career by developing (owning) waste management companies which operated in approximately one third of the State of South Carolina (20 counties), Jacksonville, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada, Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia and Raleigh, North Carolina.
In 1999, Mr. Wrenn became focused on acquiring and curating exceptional multi-family residential communities. Through his unwavering vision of creating highly functioning neighborhoods that bring people together, he established a proven track record of managing and developing multi-family communities of national industry award-winning distinction. Mr. Wrenn is continually reinvesting his time and resources in all his communities – ensuring amenities, landscapes, and facilities are prioritized.
Currently, Mr. Wrenn is especially focused on the build-out and development of his vision for Bowen “A Waterfront Village” in Hanahan, South Carolina. His mixed-use, master planned residential and commercial walkable community is on nearly one-half mile of deep waterfront as part of the Cooper River system – navigable to the Atlantic Ocean. His picturesque purposeful development celebrates southern lifestyle and neighborhood connectivity. Mr. Wrenn’s vision for Bowen is well underway – to create a beautiful residential and commercial community with architecture, streetscape and landscaping that invite “walkability” through intricate connected sidewalks and trail systems, coupled with resort style amenities including a marina, boat ramp, restaurants, quality retail, office space, pools, parks, green spaces and more. Multiple phases of the development have been completed to date including Estuary single-family homes, McKelvey condominiums, The Channel Family of Apartment Homes, and Bowen Market. Additional phases of development currently in progress include Sarah’s Court townhomes, Bowen Cottages, Bowen Market phase 2, The Greenway, and The Landing.
